What can I do with my digital pins?

You can show digital pins in a Pinbook, finish a set, hunt variants and serial numbers, trade with other collectors, and buy or sell on the official Marketplace. They live in the Disney Pinnacle app. You cannot hold one, pin it to a lanyard, or trade it with a cast member.

What can I show off in a Pinbook?

A Pinbook is the board for your collection inside Disney Pinnacle. You choose pins, arrange them, and share the board with friends and other collectors. A Starter Pinbook holds up to nine pins. Some pins also spin for a Magic Reveal of bonus content. Once that pin is sold out, the bonus stays with the owner and with people the owner invites.

You build the board in the app, not on this site. Members share boards in the Pinbook gallery. Disney Pinnacle’s own Pinbooks page invites collectors to share a board, and some of those get featured. The product notes are in Digital Pins 101, and the club guide is Pinbooks. If you are still deciding what a pin even is, start with What are digital pins?

Compared with physical pins

An enamel board is cork, a lanyard, or a frame on the wall. People can stand next to it. A Pinbook is that same instinct on a phone: a page you can send to someone who is not in the room. You still cannot pin it to your jacket.

Can I complete a set?

Most digital pins belong to a set, a themed group from the same studio. Collect at least one of each pin in the set and the set is complete. Open a pin you own and the app shows the rest of the set, including the pieces you are missing. Many Open Edition sets arrive in waves, so the last design may not be out yet. When a release includes a set-completion task, the requirements are posted ahead of time, and everyone who finishes in the window receives the stated reward. Unless that release says otherwise, the reward is one per account.

The short official note is Sets. Release timing lives on the calendar, and you should still confirm it in the app.

Compared with physical pins

Finishing a physical set means the pins are in your hands, usually on one board. Finishing a digital set means the app can point at the gap, and once a pin is tradable, a trade can fill it anytime, anywhere both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app. The satisfaction is the same. The errand is different.

Can I hunt variants, editions, and serial numbers?

Edition labels tell you how a pin was issued. Limited Edition pins are serialized, minted to a hard cap, and not reissued. The serial number shows on the pin in My Pins. Open Edition and Starter Edition pins do not display serial numbers. Open Editions mint while a window is open, and they can be printed again later under the published rules.

Variants are different treatments of a design, such as Silver Sparkle, Golden, Digital Display, and Color Splash. Chaser pins, and Digital Display and Color Splash pins, come from Mystery Capsules rather than the Revolving Storefront. Names and current rules are on Pin Variations and Variants and in Digital Pins 101. The club map is Editions & variants.

Compared with physical pins

Enamel hunters chase a mold, a date on the back, and an edition size that may or may not be printed. A Limited Edition digital pin puts the serial on the pin in the app. An Open Edition is closer to an open release window: no serial, and sometimes a later printing. They are two ways of paying attention.

Can I trade with other collectors?

Yes. You can trade 24/7, anytime and anywhere in the world, as long as both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app. It is not limited to parks or in-person meetups. The same trades run on the web at disneypinnacle.com/trade. Share your Trade Link, or open a trade with someone you have traded with before. The Trading Post is a public board: you post the pin you want and the pin or pins you will offer, and someone who owns it can accept. Both people have to accept. Each side includes at least one pin. A finished trade cannot be undone. You can hide pins you do not want offered.

Not every pin is tradable on day one. Starter Edition pins cannot be resold, transferred, or traded while they are still for sale, and some pins carry a holding period that says the same thing. Read the pin before you offer it. Official steps are in Trading 101. The club guide is Trading & Marketplace. This club does not run trades.

Compared with physical pins

Physical trading is in person: a lanyard, a board in a park, a trade you can hold up to the light, including with a cast member. Digital trading is anytime, anywhere both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app. You cannot hand a digital pin to a cast member, and you do not need the other person in the same park, the same room, or the same country.

Can I buy and sell on the Marketplace?

Yes. The Marketplace is the official website where collectors buy and sell pins that are already out. It is web-only. For pins with serial numbers, the listing shows the serial. You can list a pin you own unless that pin’s rules say it cannot be sold yet. Read Marketplace 101 before you list or buy, because the rules there can change. Digital Pin Club does not sell pins, and this site is not the Marketplace.

Compared with physical pins

Selling an enamel pin means a meetup or a package in the mail. Selling a digital pin means a listing another collector can buy on the official site. You are still dealing with a person. The club is not the counter.

What is a burn?

A burn is not a button on your Pinbook. After a Limited Edition or event drop, leftover pins that were minted but never claimed are typically destroyed so they do not enter circulation later. Unclaimed #1 serials are held for promotional use instead of going through that burn. Because of that, the number of pins actually out there can sit under the announced cap.

The collector explanation is Burns. The rule is in Digital Pins 101. Read the recap for that drop before you treat any count as final.

Compared with physical pins

A company that makes enamel pins might destroy unsold stock, warehouse it, or release it years later. Collectors can spend a long time working out which one happened. A digital burn is a stated end to unclaimed leftovers. It is still worth reading the official note for that release.

Where can I share them and talk about them?

Show a Pinbook, then talk about it with people who collect. On this site, the Club Forum is for member threads, and the community page includes the Pinbook gallery. The official Disney Pinnacle Discord is linked at the bottom of this guide. The calendar is how the club follows what is coming, so the conversation has somewhere to start.

Compared with physical pins

The park gives you the line, the lanyard, and the person standing next to you. Those afternoons do not go away because a pin is digital. A lot of members do the park on the weekend and the Club Forum, the gallery, and Discord from the couch.

How do I track mint counts and edition sizes?

Digital Pins 101 publishes the edition type. Limited Editions have a hard mint cap. Open Editions mint on demand during a window and do not show a serial number. After a burn, circulation can be lower than the cap. Pinsider.io is the club’s data desk for mint counts and edition sizes. Edition pages, live mint stats, and the last 25 mints are included free right now. Full mint history is Pro. It is optional, and it does not replace the official drop page. When a help article and the app disagree, trust the app and Digital Pins 101.

Compared with physical pins

A physical edition size might be printed on the card, listed in a catalog, or remembered by the person who was in the park that day. Digital caps are written down, which makes the homework easier. It does not make the pin more important than one you saved from a trip.

How do digital pins compare with physical pins?

Same hobby, two objects. Plenty of members keep both. This is the fair version, not a scoreboard.

What stays physicalDigitalYou cannot hold it, wear it on a lanyard, or trade it with a cast member.Physical enamelYou can do all three. You cannot trade one at midnight with a collector anywhere in the world.

Why do many collectors do both?

Because they are not the same afternoon. Enamel is the pin you can touch, the lanyard you wear into the park, and the trade you make with a cast member or the guest behind you in line. Digital pins are the board you can send at midnight, the set the app can check for you, and a trade you can make anytime, anywhere both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app.

Plenty of members started with one and picked up the other. A physical pin from a trip and a digital pin of the same character are not in competition. If you are helping a friend start, How to get someone interested in digital pins is the softer on-ramp. The calendar is the shared clock.

What else should I know?

Can I print or wear my digital pins?

No. A digital pin stays in Disney Pinnacle, where you can view it and show it in a Pinbook. The Terms of Use let you display the art for personal, non-commercial use in the app, and on platforms Dapper Labs approves. They do not give you Disney’s art, and they do not give you the right to reproduce it, including as something you print or wear, without written consent. Enamel is the pin you hold and pin on.

Can I trade digital pins at the parks?

You can trade from a park, and you can trade when you are nowhere near one. Digital pin trading works 24/7, anytime and anywhere both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app, and on the web. It is not limited to parks or in-person meetups, and it does not happen on a park pin board or with a cast member. Both people have to accept, and a finished trade cannot be undone. Trading enamel with another guest, or with a cast member, is the physical hobby. You can still open a Pinbook on your phone while you are there.

Do I own the art?

You own the digital token. When you acquire it lawfully in the app, that token is an NFT on Flow, and the terms say you own that NFT. Disney keeps the intellectual property. The token comes with a limited license to view and display the art for your personal, non-commercial use in the app. That license is not ownership of the art, and it ends for that pin if you no longer own the token.

Is Digital Pin Club official?

Digital Pin Club is independent and is not run by Disney or Dapper Labs.

Can every digital pin be traded right away?

Not always. Starter Edition pins cannot be resold, transferred, or traded while they are still for sale, and some pins have a holding period that says the same. Once a pin is tradable, you can trade it anytime, anywhere both collectors have the Disney Pinnacle app, in the app or on the web. Check the pin before you offer it.

Where are the official rules?

Product behavior lives with Disney Pinnacle. The support FAQ is older on trading and the Marketplace. When it disagrees with Digital Pins 101, Trading 101, or the app, trust those.
